Our New Years competition Winners Tracy and Jonathan Griffiths took some photos of their 'Experience for two' showing the best of whats available in Pontypridd. The competition was a huge success on Your Pontypridd's social media platforms reaching over 30,000 people across Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. Over five hundred people entered the competition, Tracy and Jonathan were announced as winners on the Your Pontypridd digital advertising screen in the town centre.

Mrs Griffiths said the following after her weekend experience in Pontypridd:

"This was a fantastic prize to win and to be honest, I hadn’t realised what you could do in a Pontypridd over a weekend. The room in the hotel was amazing and so was the breakfast. The meal in Alfred’s was fantastic and our waitress Toni was lovely, in fact Jon said his steak was the best he has ever had and will be going back again and taking our son. The tour of the museum was really interesting and our guide was lovely. Afternoon tea in Princes was delicious unfortunately we couldn’t eat it all but had a “doggy bag” for later. We spent ages in KooKoo Madame as I was literally spoilt for choice in what to buy! We really enjoyed the gin tasting in the evening in Wetherspoons and our second night in the hotel. Unfortunately we weren’t able to make the Sunday lunch in the Chain House due to other commitments but I did pop in and explain and I am sure it would have been as lovely as everything else we were given.

Thank you to Your Pontypridd BID for an amazing prize!"

BID Manager Victoria Pulman said "Im really pleased Tracy and her husband had a great time, it's good to see other people recognising the range of things that we have to offer as the main destination in Rhondda Cynon Taff. It was our most entered competition and biggest reach so far for a social media competition, our winner was one of the people who recently discovered Your Pontypridd's social media, further proof of the impact that the BID has had in promoting the businesses and the town of Pontypridd."

Keep an eye out on Your Pontypridd's social media for more competitions and the latest developments of the Your Pontypridd BID.
