RCT Council have announced that Willmot Dixon has been appointed as the contractor to support the delivery of the ambitious Taff Vale redevelopment project . Enterprise Cabinet Member, Councillor Robert Bevan has said that the appointment shows further evidence that the project is “being delivered” and represents an important stage in the project.

Construction on the site is due to begin early next year to ensure that the project is fully complete by 2019. The appointment of Willmott Dixon follows an announcement back in March 2017, when it was confirmed by Ken Skates AM that the redeveloped site will be used to home the HQ for Transport for Wales. RCT Council have also outlined ambitious plans for the inclusion of a new Gym and Library in the redevelopment.

Councillor Robert Bevan also added on the RCT Council website that they “are pleased to have Willmott Dixon on board and look forward to working with them on this ambitious project - which is of huge strategic importance.” Mr Bevan also added that the new site will enhance the commercial offer in Pontypridd and that the town will be in a good position, and ready for opportunities that will be offered from the South Wales Metro and City Deal.

Wilmott Dixon were delighted to have been appointed for the project, and they hope that the project will revitalise the town and create a positive effect not only in Pontypridd but throughout the Valleys, they also expressed an interest in working with local businesses during the project to create a lasting legacy that the town can be proud of.
