Pontypridd is following Porth, Tonypandy and Mountain Ash's movement to reduce significantly parking costs

The effort of Your Pontypridd's lobbying on behalf of businesses in Pontypridd has been very beneficial for Pontypridd Town Centre, as parking charges will be significantly decreased. From April 2017:

  1. all day on Saturdays in all town centre parks (excluding Gas Lane) will be £1.
  2. 4 hour no return parking will be implemented in Gas Lane, in order to free up space and to encourage turnover of shoppers.
  3. Parking charges will also be reduced across all car parks.
  4. parking across Rhondda Cynnon Taf will be free from 10 am throughout December.

The movement aims not only to increase the footfall of businesses in Pontypridd and in Rhondda Cynon Taf, but also to encourage local residents to shop from their local high streets.
