The town was filled with the beautiful Welsh language songs on the 15th of July. The businesses of Pontypridd funded a stage outside Natwest where some fabulous Welsh Choirs performed and afterwards we enjoyed a great soulful set from Eady Crawford!

We would like to say Diolch to Ysgol Gynradd Dolau, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llyn-Y-Forwyn, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Bodringallt, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Ynyswen, Ysgol Llanhari, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Gartholwg, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Pont Sion Norton, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Evan James and Eady Crawford for performing in front of hundreds of people and bringing the town centre alive!

Parti Ponty began at 11am with Einir from Menter Iaith giving a wonderful speech, highlighting the importance of the Welsh Language and thanking everyone involved in the festival, and everyone who has helped promote the Welsh Language in the town and the county.

Activities continued throughout the day with Artis Community coming into the park, with their colourful fantastic parade and they performed through the day. It was a wonderful community event celebrating the Welsh Language and something which Your Pontypridd were proud to be part of! There were performances from bands and solo artists throughout the day as people from all over the county and all over Wales to celebrate the wonderful Welsh language.

Bravery, innovation, leadership, selflessness: just some of the attributes that were celebrated last night with the return of the annual South Wales Police Awards last night. The awards, held at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, recognised officers, staff, volunteers and partners who have gone above and beyond for the force and the communities served by South Wales Police. The Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team which serves the community of Pontypridd, were nominated for two awards - the Police Community Support Officer of the Year Award & the Police and Crime Commissioner Exceptional Problem Solving in Partnership Award. The Taff team were successful in securing both awards, a major achievement for the town's local Policing team. The first award for the Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team went to PCSO Hannah Lowe who was described as the "Heart and soul of Pontypridd town" - Hannah Lowe, who is committed to tackling crime and disorder and is an integral part of initiatives including Pontypridd Outreach, a Halloween trail and a building painting project. Please see the video below from South Wales Police Twitter page showing Hannah's reaction to receiving the award:
