PONTYPRIDD PUBWATCH MAKES IT TO THE FINAL OF THE 2019 NATIONAL PUBWATCH. Pontypridd Pubwatch, part of the RCT & Merthyr Tydfil Business Crime Reduction Partnership, has made it to the final three of this National Pubwatch competition.
Sian John (chair) & Victoria Walker (vice chair) will represent PONTYPRIDD PUBWATCH at the prestigious award ceremony & dinner in the House of Lords in Westminster on the 16th October next month.
This is the first time a Rhondda-Cynon-Taf Pubwatch has entered the National Pubwatch Awards & this recognition is testimony to the enthusiasm & dedication that the members have put in with the support of South Wales Police, Rhondda-Cynon-Taf Council licensing team, & other agencies.
Activities over the last year that were submitted include:
- Regular monthly minuted meetings
- 28 persons put on Pubwatch exclusions in past year
- strict exclusion criteria
- all members active participants of the RCT Nightnet radio scheme
- Working closely with RCT CCTV team
- all members signed up to Disc secure website for reporting, & monitoring offenders
- Regular campaigns to cover the busy periods of Christmas, & Six Nations & Autumn International rugby.
- Members & their teams have attended seminars covering Safeguarding of vulnerable adults & children, drug & substance abuse, & doorstaff development.
- Working closely with the enforcement authorities.
- Active members of the Your Pontypridd Business Improvement District.
- Committed over the year to reducing crime in & around their premises plus making Pontypridd a welcoming & safe night time destination.
