Regeneration in Pontypridd gets a boost - New BID Manager for “Your Pontypridd”

The Your Pontypridd Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Victoria Pulman MSc as their new BID Manager.

Victoria brings with her expertise spanning regeneration, networking, economic policy and business development

Victoria has been a self-employed Research & Policy Consultant for the past few years working with various consultancies, social enterprises and SME's Your Pontypridd is also delighted to retain James Payne as Project Co-coordinator.

A BID is a business-led and business funded body formed to improve a defined commercial area. The benefits of BIDs, cited by the businesses they represent, are wide-ranging and include, the businesses deciding directly what they want for the area, having a voice in issues affecting the area, increased footfall, improved staff retention, reduced business costs, enhanced marketing and promotion, facilitated networking opportunities with neighbouring businesses and assistance in dealing with the Council, Police and other public bodies

Maggie Hughes, newly elected Chair of Your Pontypridd said: "We are pleased to welcome Victoria on board and retain the services of James Payne. They make a great team and we look forward to new and innovative ways to bring back life to the high street in Pontypridd.

Both Victoria and James bring knowledge and experience from previous roles that will support the promotion of Pontypridd. Myself and the Board are very much looking forward to working with them."

Bravery, innovation, leadership, selflessness: just some of the attributes that were celebrated last night with the return of the annual South Wales Police Awards last night. The awards, held at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, recognised officers, staff, volunteers and partners who have gone above and beyond for the force and the communities served by South Wales Police. The Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team which serves the community of Pontypridd, were nominated for two awards - the Police Community Support Officer of the Year Award & the Police and Crime Commissioner Exceptional Problem Solving in Partnership Award. The Taff team were successful in securing both awards, a major achievement for the town's local Policing team. The first award for the Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team went to PCSO Hannah Lowe who was described as the "Heart and soul of Pontypridd town" - Hannah Lowe, who is committed to tackling crime and disorder and is an integral part of initiatives including Pontypridd Outreach, a Halloween trail and a building painting project.
