The reputation of Pontypridd’s Business Improvement District (BID) continues to grow among new businesses as we welcome our fourth Voluntary Member to the BID since the beginning of the year (January 2018).

A combination of word of mouth from current BID members, our engaging social media platform, events and focus on promoting the town brought the BID to Dewi Gray’s attention who signed up his fine dining Chain House restaurant in Bridge Street to become part of the BID family last week.

The Chain House restaurant follows in the footsteps of Sara and Richard Langford of Cortile Coffee in Pontypridd Market who joined in January 2018, Lloyd Newland of Avon Newland Chartered Surveyors in Gelliwastad Road who became Members in April and the soon to be reopened Globetrotters Bar in Bridge Street brought owner Dan Jones on who signed up last month.

BID Manager Victoria Pulman added ‘I’m delighted to see the BID expanding and to welcome these four fantastic and unique new businesses to our BID family. It’s a positive sign that we’re doing the right things to enhance the local business community and that our success is being noticed and businesses want to be part of what we’re offering.

The passion that all four businesses have for Pontypridd is obvious and we look forward to working with them to expand and help create a brighter future for themselves and the town.’

Our first voluntary members Sara Langford of Coritle Coffee said ‘We wanted to join the business community and to help promote the town in a positive and constructive way. We are local and passionate about Pontypridd and everything it has to offer. It is encouraging to see so many businesses working together for the good of the town and the community. We very much wanted to be part of that as the first paying voluntary member from Pontypridd Market.’

Dan Jones of Globetrotters saw the potential of last year’s LINKFest music festival for the town and got in touch about how his new business could be involved this year. Since our initial meeting to welcome him to the BID not only is Globetrotters part of this year’s LINKfest line up but we’ve identified current projects like the Student discount Scheme and hosting BID networking events and meetings that he can benefit from.

Our most recent sign up Dewi Gray decide to open The Chain House as he saw a gap in the local market, a fine dining restaurant. Dewi’s building the business slowly and its only been open a few weeks, but feedback from local and customers alike has been very positive and it’s good to have them as part of the BID.

Proving it’s not just food business who see the benefits, Lloyd Newland became a member after we approached Avon Newland for advice about a project the BID was undertaking and he was keen to know what the BID was and what we did. Following that conversation Lloyd signed up the Chartered Surveyors to be part of the BID and we continue to work together for the benefit of Pontypridd.

If you are a new or existing business in Pontypridd or know businesses who would benefit from joining and being part of the BID please contact us at info@yourpontypridd.co.uk for details of how to become a Member.
