Ghekko Rags - Lost Boys Club becomes latest Pontypridd business to join Your Pontypridd BID as voluntary member

Ghekko Rags - Lost Boys Club barbers and clothing have become the latest business in Pontypridd to join the Your Pontypridd Business Improvement District as a voluntary contributor. Ghekko Rags- Lost Boys Club aims to be a unique, urban styled clothing brand that offers an affordable approach to "on trend" clothes. All of their items have been designed by a barber that had a vision to create a diverse brand of clothing including; Over Sized T-Shirts, Jumpers, Hooded Sweatshirts and more that suited every shape and size and fitted all occasions. Ghekko Rags want people from all walks of life to feel comfortable and on point in all of their pieces, so everything was designed with individuality and freedom in mind.

As part of their new business venture, Ghekko Rags wanted to support a charity and have a passion for supporting people with mental health issues, the company name includes "Lost Boys Club" which stems from our designers personal battle with mental health problems, who was once referred to as a "Lost Boy" who couldn't find his way in life and struggled daily with depression. After finally seeking help and talking about his problems he began realising how many people around him were suffering too, to really focus his energy in something positive he created Ghekko Rags-Lost Boy Club, the brand and business has developed as a result of a persons mental health recovery, the business encouraged everyone that struggles with mental to talk and are developing a calm zone in their business at 8 Ceridwen Terrace to talk to people who are having mental health problems and give them a calm space. 8 Ceridwen Terrance is also home to the Ghekko Rags - Lost Boys Club walk in barbers where owner Josh Downes does mens haircuts including skin fades in a relaxed, trendy and colourful barbers. The barbers is open Tuesday and Wednesday between 9.30am and 6pm, Thursday and Friday between 10am and 8pm and open between 9am and 5pm on Saturdays! Bravery, innovation, leadership, selflessness: just some of the attributes that were celebrated last night with the return of the annual South Wales Police Awards last night. The awards, held at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, recognised officers, staff, volunteers and partners who have gone above and beyond for the force and the communities served by South Wales Police. The Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team which serves the community of Pontypridd, were nominated for two awards - the Police Community Support Officer of the Year Award & the Police and Crime Commissioner Exceptional Problem Solving in Partnership Award. The Taff team were successful in securing both awards, a major achievement for the town's local Policing team. The first award for the Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team went to PCSO Hannah Lowe who was described as the "Heart and soul of Pontypridd town" - Hannah Lowe, who is committed to tackling crime and disorder and is an integral part of initiatives including Pontypridd Outreach, a Halloween trail and a building painting project.
