Pontypridd town centre and particularly our BID businesses have suffered in recent weeks firstly with the floods which impacted over fifty businesses and now the threat of Covid-19 is having a significant impact on the town especially for our small businesses.

Here are a few things you can do to support our businesses during this difficult period! If you have more ideas contact us on our social media pages or write something in the comments/tweet us/mention us!

Vouchers available in businesses!

Some customers have understandably cancelled bookings at restaurants and at professional services businesses, however why not consider asking if they have gift vouchers available so you can consider coming back in the future, the smaller businesses in particular are reliant on their loyal customers and purchasing a voucher would go a long way to helping the business pay their bills, their staff and help look after their business which is essential to their livelihood!

These places are currently selling vouchers:

Alfreds Bar and Grill, Bon Marche, Burton/Dorothy Perkins, Cafe Royale (High Street - 20% off takeaway orders), GAME, Gloden, Heavenly Brows, Holland and Barrett, Hollywood Nails Bar, JD Wetherspoons, Lazarou Hair and Beauty, Lextan, Peacocks, Performance Physiotherapy, Pontypridd Osteopathic Clinic, Pontypridd Market Quarter, (River Island, Specsavers (https://giftvouchers.specsavers.co.uk/giftvouchers.co.uk/index.html), The Blueberry Inn, The Hair Centre, Trattoria.

Like & Share social media posts and notices

Many of the businesses in the town centre are on social media, so why not help them out and share their posts/notices or give them a like/follow on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram which every you like to use! Follow the Your Pontypridd BID & Pontypridd Town Centre pages for all the latest deals, discounts and notices in the town!

Bravery, innovation, leadership, selflessness: just some of the attributes that were celebrated last night with the return of the annual South Wales Police Awards last night. The awards, held at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, recognised officers, staff, volunteers and partners who have gone above and beyond for the force and the communities served by South Wales Police. The Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team which serves the community of Pontypridd, were nominated for two awards - the Police Community Support Officer of the Year Award & the Police and Crime Commissioner Exceptional Problem Solving in Partnership Award. The Taff team were successful in securing both awards, a major achievement for the town's local Policing team. The first award for the Taff Neighbourhood Policing Team went to PCSO Hannah Lowe who was described as the "Heart and soul of Pontypridd town" - Hannah Lowe, who is committed to tackling crime and disorder and is an integral part of initiatives including Pontypridd Outreach, a Halloween trail and a building painting project. Please see the video below from South Wales Police Twitter page showing Hannah's reaction to receiving the award:
